Tiny Round Om (Aum) Necklace, #7033-yg

This small 24k gold plated bronze pendant has a detailed OM symbol on it. The pendant measures 5/16" across, and it hangs from a 1.5mm gold filled bead chain. This necklace can be worn alone or layered with other necklaces. While this is great for adults, it is a nice size for young girls too. The Om (or Aum) sign is the main symbol of Hinduism, it signifies God, Creation, and the One-ness of all creation.



The Om symbol is a sacred syllable representing Brahman, the impersonal Absolute - omnipotent, omnipresent, and the source of all manifest existence. The three portions of AUM relate to the states of waking, dream and deep sleep. The three letters also indicate three planes of existence, heaven, earth and netherworld. Aum is said to be the essence of the Vedas and is considered to be the sound of the Sun and the sound of Light. It is the sound of assent (affirmation) and ascent (it has an upwards movement and uplifts the soul, as the sound of the divine eagle or falcon).
